You Are Beautiful

It’ s so easy to compare yourself to someone. You start to criticize yourself for not looking the same way, which builds up insecurities. As you scroll through Instagram, you might begin to notice everything that you don’t have. Maybe you should lose or gain weight, cut your hair or grow your hair, start wearing makeup more often, etc. I get it. We have all been there. It doesn’t help when society yells at you for not looking the way it wants you to look like. The longer we pay attention to society, the longer we deprive ourselves of our uniqueness.

As you look at yourself in the mirror, start reminding yourself that there’s no one like you. You are made unique. You are beautiful regardless of what the world tells you. It’s true, so start believing it. Start to change your mindset and it would take you to places you have never been to. There’s no amount of likes or hearts that can tell you how beautiful you are. At the end of the day, you have control of your mindset. Will you start to build yourself up? Or are you going to continue to bring yourself down?

Start to accept that you can’t please everyone. They may criticize you for looking a certain way, but you need to remember that everyone loves to talk and you are not the problem— they are. Your job isn’t to meet their standards, but to embrace who you are. By all means, this is not about self-improvement (which is a different topic), but instead I’m here to express that part of self-love is to accept and meet yourself where you are in present-time.

There may be days where you might feel so out of it. It’s part of life. However, this can influence how you view yourself, but you can’t let your emotions dictate your mindset. You need to start to take control of your thoughts because your emotions lie. I encourage you to start to think positive even when you are going through a lot. Trust me, it is something nobody can rob away from you and it will help you in the long run.

Appearances will fade away, but your mindset won’t. You are beautiful, so start living by it everyday. Build yourself up and start to give yourself compliments. At the end of the day, you are all you have. Opinions don’t matter. Only facts remain. The fact is that you are beautiful, so start to embrace it. Kiss your bad habits goodbye, and say hello to a new mindset.
