With only a minute left, the Chief’s ended up scoring another touchdown, and kicked a final field goal, bringing their score up to 31. With barely any time left in the game for the 49ers to make a comeback, the Kansas City Chiefs won Superbowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers with a score of 31 to 20.

According to CBS News, the Chief’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes, 24, was named MVP for fueling the team’s strong comeback victory. He also became the youngest player in NFL history to win the regular season MVP, as well as a Superbowl title.

In recent weeks, there were also many more recognitions of the Chief’s team members across the nation. Wlbt.com reports that the Mississippi Senate honored two champions of Superbowl LIV on Tuesday, February 18th. Linebacker Damien Wilson from Gloster, and cornerback Charvarious Ward from McComb were both recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to the 2019 season. Their hometowns also held huge celebrations for both of the champions.

According to 13newsnow.com, Derrick Nnadi from Virginia Beach, VA was the defensive tackle for the Chiefs, and celebrated the victory by paying for all of the adoption fees in one Kansas City dog shelter, emptying all of the Kennels in the facility. Virginia Beach City leaders are now discussing honoring his victory and generous devotion to charity.

Reports posted on Kansascity.com show evidence that honoring members of the Chiefs has also spread to Canada, as Offensive Lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was recognized as “an authentic Quebec hero.” This is due to the fact that he is the first person from Quebec to have won the Superbowl, and will continue to remember this accomplishment for the rest of his life.

This accomplishment is very notable for the Kansas City Chiefs, and has proven that their hard efforts after so long have finally paid off. The fact that their win is being recognized everywhere is very good for the team’s reputation, and has shown what a fantastic achievement this has been for the team’s record going forward.
