Discussing the NBA’s ‘One and Done’ Rule

In the past 20 years, we have seen some talented basketball stars come up through the NBA. So good that they got drafted right out of high school. The first to do it was Kevin Garnett in 1995, and players such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Dwight Howard are just a few of the names that made the jump from high school to the NBA. All of these players will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame when their time comes.

The Dangers of Juuls

What was the most common and seemenly “harmless” form of obtaining nicotine for young adults may have just turned into a very lethal product. Juuls, which are simply the “e-cigarette” of the new generation, have been very popular among young adults in the last few years. With flavors ranging from mango to strawberry, this is a convenient and enjoyable way for young adults to get a “buzz.” However, in the last couple of months, the dangers about Juuls have started to appear in its consumer population. There has been multiple cases across the country where people have been hospitalized, or even died, due to Juul products.

Men’s Soccer: Coach DeVito Claims Wins Record

The Eastern Connecticut Men’s Soccer team opened their season on Aug. 31 against Medgar Evers College. The warriors took down the cougars 6-0 last year in Brooklyn, NY.  Due to the maintenance issues, Nevers Field, the usual home of the Men’s Soccer team, is unplayable for the Fall of 2019. All of the Men’s Soccer home games have been moved to the Mansfield Athletic Complex.  This is Head Coach Greg DeVito’s 13th season at the helm for the Warriors. After last year’s 2-1 conference semi-final loss to in-state rival Western Connecticut, DeVito was capped off at 153 career wins, the same total that the legendary Thomas Nevers finished his career with.
